Some of the VertaseFLI team, Rebecca Weller, Neil Hopkins, Mike Allsobrook, Warren Hunt, Dan Newell, Richard Williams and Lee Vollero took on the gruelling 24km SAS selection test march staged over Pen y Fan. The world’s oldest special forces test and is used as a major indicator of whether a candidate has the physical and mental aptitude to complete the SAS selection course.
The race is run by ex-forces and people can do it loaded (carrying heavy kit!) or clean (still have to carry a fair bit of kit!)
It was a hard slog! Jacob’s ladder was particularly brutal especially in the wind and rain! It was extremely wet under foot and they had to wade though 2 rivers! Although some of the team managed to jump over both rivers!
Everyone did great – we are looking for the next challenge – does anyone want to join?
