VertaseFLI was appointed as Principal Contractor for the works. The work involved the undertaking of an archaeological excavation around some existing structures before completing the groundworks and infrastructure works to enable the erection of a permanent viewing structure.
Following completion of the archaeological excavation, a sheet pile wall structure was completed around the area before levels around the sheet pile wall were brought up to formation level. Following this, drainage, lighting ducting and cabling was laid before placement of final surfacings. Lighting columns were installed along with other street furniture before final erection of the sculpture / monuments.
Basement excavation were also undertaken which involved the installation of an access / egress ramp and disposal of hazardous waste arisings.
